About Hutchison House
Hutchison House - located in downtown Peterborough, Ontario - is a museum offering a glimpse of life in Ontario in the 1800s. An estimated 5,000 people visit the museum each year for guided tours and other special events, including Scottish Tea and Hogmanay.
It was built in 1837 for Dr. John Hutchison, one of the earliest doctors in Peterborough, as a way to keep the doctor in town. It is the first home in Canada to John's cousin, Sir Sandford Fleming, both of whom are from Kirkcaldy Scotland. For a printable pdf with more information, please click HERE |
